Oh no! What happens when you can't get any newborn photography sessions during a lock down?
For a lot of my clients it meant the possibility of missing out on capturing those very special first memories of their newborn babies and missing out on their newborn photography session.
Some of my clients opted for a sitter session instead but for a few, we got creative and did remote newborn photography sessions I wanted to make sure I did whatever I could to help my clients have at least some amazing pictures even when we could not meet in person.
What a learning experience for us all! I anticipated these sessions being shot on an iPhone while I coached my clients over the phone, but for this particular session, Dad said he has a DLSR. So we decide to go for it and photograph the session using his equipment.
I was on the phone all through the session on Facetime coaching Mom and Dad on setup, swaddling, posing, lighting, camera settings and angles, the works! After we all broke out in a good sweat (even me at a remote distance!), they sent all the pictures to me for editing.
Here is the end the result and I love the outcome for so many reasons. It felt like a really special privilege to experience this process with my clients as we captured these really special memories during their very memorable remote newborn photography session.
